Research and medical library of SibMed is again ranked first in Russia

III Library Forum ‘Information Technologies in Medical Libraries’ organized by SibMed, RUDN University and MedArt took place in Moscow. At the Forum, the results of the independent rankings of medical university libraries ‘The library as a strategic partner of the university’ were presented.
Participants of the forum discussed strategic areas in development of the library at different levels of its interaction with users. The key topics were development and implementation of a unified standard of service for users, creation of the information environment for foreign students, implementation of lean technologies, etc.
Besides, the results of the independent rankings of medical university libraries were announced at the conference. The evaluation criteria included the number of subscriptions to national and foreign resources, the availability of university-owned and corporate resources, dynamics of service accessibility for a virtual user, etc. In 2018, many libraries have improved their positions in the rankings.
According to the rankings, top three medical university libraries are the following:
- Siberian State Medical University
- Bashkir State Medical University
- Omsk State Medical University
Participants of the forum emphasized high level of conference organization, the event-packed program and friendly atmosphere.
It is also worth mentioning that 75 representatives of medical libraries, publishing houses and selling companies took part in the forum. The participants came from Moscow, Tomsk, Kirov, Yaroslavl, Korolyov, Kursk, Chita, Kemerovo, Vladivostok, Omsk, Astrakhan, Volgograd, Barnaul, Ufa, Izhevsk, Arkhangelsk, Lipetsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Ivanovo, Aktobe, Semey and Warsaw.
