For the fifth year in a row, Siberian State Medical University has been retaining its leading positions in top 3 best medical universities in Russia. According to the Russian University Ranking 2019, it is ranked 3rd.

In 2019, SibMed also improved its positions in top 50 best universities in Russia and has been ranked 48th. Since 2017, the most stunning growth has been demonstrated by SibMed in international cooperation. According to this parameter, SibMed is ranked 19th among 327 Russian universities, as opposed to the 53rd place in 2017.

“Competition on the global market is rising from year to year. Our growth in the the international cooperation parameter proves that we are in demand in other countries. We are planning to increase the number of international students within the federal project on Russian education export. However, our goal is not the Ranking, it is only the indicator, that proves that we have chosen the right development strategy”, Olga Kobyakova, Rector of SibMed, emphasized.

Only two universities are ahead of SibMed in the Ranking of the best medical universities in Russia – Sechenov and Pirogov medical universities (they are ranked 23rd and 26th in the National University Ranking, respectively).

National University Ranking is an annual large-scale investigation of Russian universities that has been carried out by Interfax since 2010. University performance is assessed according to six key criteria: education, research, social projects, international cooperation, innovations, and brand policy. Evaluations are made after processing data from questionnaires filled out by university representatives, public data on official university websites and information sources of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science and data from the SPARK and SCAN analytical systems.
