Student Scientific Society (SSS) named after Nikolay I. Pirogov |
Student Scientific Society (SSS) named after Nikolay I. Pirogov counts almost 2,000 members, holds 400 meetings a year, has 7 sections, conducts clinical and experimental activities and is often a winner of different prizes at the conferences and grant projects. The supreme governing body of SSS is the SSS Council, which is annually elected from among students actively engaged in scientific activities. The Council of SSS is a permanent collegial body, including the chairman and vice-chairmen, whose activities are based on 8 sections: therapeutic, surgical, pediatric, theoretical, humanitarian, foreign languages, pharmaceutical, biomedical. Each section is led by a supervisor - an employee of the university from among the teaching staff and the chairman - a student member of the Council. |

Academic Choir |
After its establishment 30 years ago, SibMed Choir resumed its work in September 2010. The first performance of the newly gathered ensemble took place at the "Student Way - 2010" competition in November 2010. The Choir invites students to join the team every year. SibMed Choir is well-known in Tomsk and the region. It early participates in various contests not only in the region but, also, on the national level. Also, it gives many performances in different city and university events. Rehearsals take place on Tuesdays and Fridays between 8pm and 10pm and Sundays betwwen 12pm and 2pm. |

Tomsk Regional All-Russian Public Movement of Medical Volunteers

Volunteers of All-Russian Public Movement of Medical Volunteers provide support to medical personnel in hospitals and clinics. Our volunteers carry out their activities according to the agreement signed with every medical organization, and their scope of tasks is defined by clear regulations. Also, the volunteers often help elderly and those living in remote areas with providing basic medical care. Medical Volunteers provide significant support to the healthcare sector in solving socially significant problems in such priority areas as:

Dance group“Anesthesia” |
Dance group “Anesthesia” is a student initiative that started its activities in 2010. The first performance took place in the event named "Dance for the University." The team is engaged in modern dancing field. Every year the number of group members is growing, now there are 30 people dancing on the team. At the start of the academic year, “Anesthesia” gives open dance classes to attract more freshman in their activities. Anybody, who is in love with dancing, can join the team, there are no specific requirements. Rehearsal take place Wednesdays, Tuesdays and Saturdays between 8pm and 10pm, and Sundays between 5.30pm and 9pm. |

Sports and tourism club "Altus" |
The club is active for many years at SibMed. Its main aim is to develop students’ knowledge and skills in tourism activities in Siberia. The training program provides comprehensive training on the basics of walking, water and speleo tourism. During the training, the students work on skills necessary for survival in the natural environment, making decisions in emergency situations, healthy life-being and developing their physical capabilities. Training is conducted on an artificial rock simulator (climbing wall), which is in Tomsk. Students practice the basics of climbing and learn many practicalities necessary to know when climbing in natural environment. Other practical classes are held in the indoor sports complex at SibMed. Moreover, students study some basics of water tourism as one of the training areas in the club. |

Student Theatre "Kovcheg" |
Theater is a way of life. The basic principles of the "Kovcheg" theater troupe are friendship, camaraderie, and creativity. Every September, at the beginning of each academic year, everyone can apply to join the troupe. During this month students get to participate in the exciting trainings, classes, and theatrical games. Here freshmen get acquainted with the traditions and atmosphere of the "Kovcheg". In October, “initiation into actors” is held for students who have passed the selection month. 2-3 new performances are usually staged per season, while the theater’s repertoire includes a dozen last year's performances that have not lost their relevance. Rehearsals take place 2-3 times a week. "Kovcheg" invites different actors from city theatres to engage in their performances. Also, it cooperates with spectacular center "Aelita", where every month 2-3 times "Kovcheg" plays its theatricals. |

Rock band “MessiR” |
The rock band “MessiR” was created in 2016 under the supervision of Andrey Andreigikov. Genre: neopostdekadans with elements of psychedelic music, avant-garde, experimental and alternative genres. In addition to performing covers, the group plays its own songs, authored by Andrey Andreigikov. Each year, the group participates in the “Tomsk Student Spring” competition, taking first places in the category "Author's Song". Also, annually the band performs for SibMed community with solo concert in late spring. |

Poetry Club “21stcentury”

SibMed Poetry Club consists of a group of students who are all excited about the art of poetry! Anybody who is willing to achieve self-expression and enhance his literacy through the writing and performance of poetry is welcome to the club. During the meeting students read many poems of Russian and international authors. Often, the club is the place where students can share with the audience their own piece of art. |

Student Association "Surgery without Borders" |
Student Association “Surgery without Borders” deals with 7 areas of surgery - abdominal surgery, reconstructive plastic surgery, cardiovascular surgery, gynecology, urology, traumatology and neurosurgery. That involves 12 groups and more than 100 students studying various surgical skills in these areas. The Association holds joint meetings, where speakers, representatives of various specialties in the field of medicine, share their experience. In addition, the student association is the place where students get trained to participate in different surgical contests. Opening hours: Friday-Saturday, from 4pm to 8pm. |

Media center“MEDia” |
The media center provides photo and video support to all types of events organized by the student organizations and the university administration. “MEDia” team participate in reporting, sound and video directing of events. One of the divisions of the media center is the student newspaper "MEDium". The work that is being done by the Media Center can be found on the university’s website, social networks of the university and student organizations. Vocal instrumental group "Clan Soprano" |
The team performs various musical genres: jazz, pop vocals, folk and classical singing. Special feature of the group is live performances. Students willing to join the group have to undergo the selection process that takes place twice during the academic year, at the beginning of each semester. Not only SibMed students are invited to participate, also students from other universities and colleges in Tomsk. “Clan Soprano” successfully participates in different competitions all around Russia. “Da Vinci.ssmu” is a non-profit student association that conducts its activities under the umbrella of Student Union. The Club organizes educational activities in different art fields, such as: academic drawing, painting, anatomy for artists, portrait, graffiti, agar art, digital-art, media design, content art, art modeling and animation, graphic editing on special software, art therapy and art history. Human Anatomy Museum |
The museum stores more than 2,000 exhibits: normal anatomy of the musculoskeletal system, joints and muscles, vascular system, lymphatic system, peripheral and central nervous systems, cranial nerves, the genitourinary and respiratory systems, digestive system, and expositions on comparative human anatomy and animals, human malformations, and collection of skulls from the prosector S.M. Chugunov collection. These are wet preparations in formalin solution, bone and bone-wax preparations, corrosive preparations and imitations. Over the past 10 years, Tatyana Tikhonova (Vasilieva), senior lecturer in the Human Anatomy Division, made a great contribution to the collection replenishment. Exhibits clearly demonstrate almost all the organs and systems of the human body and are a necessary visual aid for future doctors. The museum is open for SibMed students to study the exhibits and get acquainted with the University history. In addition, the students have the opportunity to participate in the restoration of museum exhibits and the manufacture of new ones. The exhibits are used for scientific research by University staff and students, writing scientific articles. This is an important material for research for Students’ Scientific Community, the results of which are actively presented at various conferences. |

Pathological Anatomy Museum |
The Pathological Museum collection counts more than 3,000 exhibits, including wet macro preparations, bone preparations and imitations, demonstrating changes in human organs and tissues with a variety of pathological processes and diseases. At present, the museum has a unique collection of exhibits representing a wide variety of oncological pathologies. Among other exhibits there are samples of sharply neglected malignant tumors of the face, limbs, retroperitoneal space, and heart tumor. Also, leprosy, glanders, smallpox, typhoid fever, destructive forms of tuberculosis, complications of the tertiary period of syphilis, which are either very rare or not at all presently found. Museum exhibits provide an opportunity to visually see a large number of diseases of the heart and blood vessels, as well as organs of the central nervous system, respiration, digestion, genitourinary organs, pathology of pregnancy, etc. Among the unique samples are many congenital malformations and abnormalities in children. |

General Pathology Museum named after O.V. Kurlov |
Today, the collection includes 400 unique exhibits: wet macro preparations of pathologically altered internal organs and dry bone preparations. All drugs are signed, catalogued and grouped by the body systems. Classes in the discipline of general pathology are held on the basis of the museum of general pathology: pathological anatomy, pathophysiology with 3rd and 4th year students from the Biomedicine Department, as well as their research activities. The exhibits of the museum are used when writing teaching aids, conducting health education lectures and vocational guidance with schoolchildren. |

Siberian State Medical University History Museum |
The museum exposition includes several thousand exhibits presented within the framework of the main scientific schools of the University: physiologists, pathophysiologists, morphologists, pharmacologists, microbiologists, surgeons, pediatricians, obstetrician-gynecologists, and general practitioners. Each scientific school has its own professorial genealogical tree starting of the schools’ founders and their students to date. The museum presents a number of unique exhibits, including the surgical instruments of the surgeon-innovator Professor Andrei Grigoryevich Savinykh, with the help of which he performed unique operations. The chair of the outstanding physiologist Alexei Alexandrovich Kulyabko, who revived the world's first human heart. A personal microscope of professor Mikhail Georgievich Kurlov - the founder of the Siberian Therapists School. Some x-ray tubes of the first x-ray machine in Tomsk, which was brought to the University a year after its invention. A special role in the museum is given to historical installations, the central place in which is occupied by historical photographs or paintings, complemented by furnishings and genuine items of that time. |

Forensics Museum |
Most of the exhibits that make up the collection of the Forensics Museum represented material evidence in various criminal cases, and, accordingly, have their own history with their heroes and cowards, scoundrels, victims and murderers. Some of the museum exhibits are still shrouded in mystery. Among the objects of the museum’s collection there are exhibits reflecting the history of our region, the history of famous people, whose life was somehow connected with Siberia and Tomsk, in particular. In addition, in the museum you can see wax models that amaze with their truthfulness and art of execution, showing various types of damage to the skin and bones of the skeleton. The museum also presents a large collection of firearms, including home-made ones, and a not lesser collection of various ammunition. Among the museum exhibits there are many wet and dry samples - skin flaps, internal organs, as well as skeleton bones with gunshot injuries. |
