Participants of the University of Tomsk Project signed a charter

On November 19, the heads of Tomsk universities and academic institutes, as well as National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, signed the charter of the University of Tomsk. The document was signed by Acting SibMed Rector Evgeny Kulikov.

The charter included the main principles of collaboration and academic freedom of the partners. The document outlined the main scientific, educational and organizational tasks. It will contribute to the development and promotion of the international brand of the University of Tomsk and Tomsk as the first university city in Russia.

"The charter is a very important step towards the creation of the University of Tomsk," noted Governor of the Tomsk Region Sergei Zhvachkin. "This global integration project has brought together all our universities and academic institutions. It is symbolic that the historical document was signed on the Day of the Higher School Teacher, which was celebrated for the first time in Russia. Today we are thinking about the future of the region and this day is associated with the development of the scientific and educational complex."

According to the signed charter, the participants will consolidate efforts to form the ecosystem of the university city and to ensure the world-class quality of education in Tomsk. The universities and academic institutions intend to create and implement joint educational programs at all levels.
