Tomsk medical volunteers are the best in Russia

Moscow hosted the international forum #WeAreTogether, which summed up the results of volunteer activities in 2021. The event was attended by over 260 medical volunteers from different parts of Russia as well as volunteers from more than 40 countries. 

Tomsk Regional Department of "Medical Volunteers" won the Grand Prix of the competition as the best regional department of "Medical Volunteers". Tomsk volunteers have retained their leadership positions at the federal level for three years in a row.

“We received the Grand Prix of the competition for the first time in our history. This is our common victory. I would like to express my gratitude to all our partners. We are not going to stop – there are many other goals to meet," said Alexey Filimonov, Regional Coordinator of the All-Russian movement of volunteers in healthcare called "Medical Volunteers".

In 2021, the team of Medical Volunteers grew to 1,826 members. They spent more than 50,000 hours helping 100,000 people.

This year the volunteers held 914 events in healthcare, donated 292 liters of blood as part of donor campaigns and continued to provide assistance to medical workers in 35 medical institutions. They implemented more than 6,500 applications from the elderly and people with limited mobility as part of the All-Russian #WeAreTogether campaign during the coronavirus pandemic.
