Mountains, rivers, lakes and national dishes: SibMed students visited Altai

As part of the tourist and patriotic movement at the SibMed Pharmacy Department, students of 2-4 years of study travelled to the Altai Republic. The event was aimed at supporting socially vulnerable students and encouraging those who have demonstrated high results in educational and project activities. 

The participants got acquainted with the culture of the peoples of Russia and their traditions, visited sacred places, collected medicinal plants. They had hot meals and accommodation provided by two campsites. As part of the tour, students visited many beautiful places.

"Thanks to the trip, the participants examined the area for collecting raw materials and found an organization for cooperation. It will collect, dry and deliver raw materials to Tomsk for free," told Ilya Kaminsky, Acting Dean of the SibMed Pharmacy Department.   

In addition, students made flower crowns at the birthplace of the Biya River, took motorboats to the Kamyshlinsky Waterfall, walked to lakes and caught trout to bake in foil. They also tasted national dishes, enjoyed the views of the Katun River and the geyser lake near the Chui Tract.
