SibMed held the cross-cultural conference "Topical issues in medicine of the world's nations"
Siberian State Medical University held the cross-cultural conference "Topical issues in medicine of the world's nations". The participants presented their reports in English on topical issues: general questions of medicine in different cultures, traditional medicine of the world's nations, the basics of a healthy lifestyle among the young.
Students of 2-6 years of study from both English and Russian programs of the General Medicine Department, as well as students of the Pediatrics and Pharmacy Departments took part in the conference. The presentations were evaluated by the jury according to the following criteria: knowledge and methodology, literate speech, creativity, uniqueness of the chosen topic.
"Reports were presented in English. Such events help to create a comfortable environment for international students. They also help Russian-speaking students to acquire the experience necessary for a future researcher to participate in international English-language conferences," said Daria Kokorina, Deputy Dean of the General Medicine Department.
All participants were awarded with memorable prizes. The winners received certificates allowing them to buy SibMed merchandise.
The event was arranged as part of the University grant competition to support cross-cultural projects.
