SibMed increased number of subject Olympiads by half in 2024

21.02.2025

Siberian State Medical University organized and co-organized 15 subject Olympiads in 2024, marking a 50% increase compared to 2023. The Olympiads covered 11 different disciplines, including pathological anatomy, oncology, outpatient therapy, dentistry, pharmacy, normal physiology, psychology, ecology, surgery, hygiene, and healthy lifestyle.

The increase in the number of Olympiads in 2024 is our response to the growing interest of young people in the in-depth study of medical sciences. Olympiads help future specialists broaden their horizons and enhance the professional skills essential for their careers. We hope that this trend will continue, further supporting the development of educational initiatives at SibMed

 said Alexander Okorokov,

SibMed vice-rector for academic affairs.

Olympiads in Russia, particularly in the field of medical and pharmaceutical education, continue to be a key part of the educational process. They provide a platform for students to showcase their abilities, deepen their subject knowledge, and develop valuable skills such as quick problem-solving and stress resilience.

SibMed actively supports the organization of Olympiads and competitions at both the regional and federal levels. It fosters a supportive environment for students that pursue high academic achievements.
