Students who enter Russia to study at SibMed must be registered within 7 business days at the Migration Office of the Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia (Upravlenie po voprosam migracii UMVD Rossii po Tomskoi oblasti).


For migration registration (hereinafter referred to as registration) the following documents must be submitted:

        1. National passport with a visa;
        2. Migration card (is issued when crossing the Russian boarder);
        3. Copy of the ticket to Tomsk (to confirm the date of arrival in Tomsk).

The registration can be obtained from the reception of the hostel/hotel or apartment owner, where the student is staying.



We advise students to keep the registration coupon for the entire permitted period of stay in the Russian Federation in the passport along with the migration card and not to loose it. 

In case there are any questions, International Education Department can be consulted.

 IMPORTANT!

 In case you:

  • cross the national border of Russia, or
  • register in a hotel or in an apartment in a city other than Tomsk, or
  • move to another hostel or to an apartment, or
  • receive a new passport.

You must consult the International Education Department and inform about any of the listed cases within 5 business day to make a new registration.

If the student stays at the city other than Tomsk over 7 business days he/she must consult the receiving party of the city (to a Russian citizen granting an apartment or to administration of the receiving party) for migration registration through the Migration Office of the Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

According to the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Article 18.8), late appeal of the student for migration registration is an administrative offense and leads to liability. For violation of Russian legislation, administrative measures (Article 18.8.1), such as imposing of an administrative fine and/or expulsion from the Russian Federation, may be applied to international students  who lately appeal for migration registration by the Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in compliance with the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
