06.12.2024

SibMed’s international students from Nigeria, India, and Egypt took part part in the 15th International School of Young Scientists "Systems Biology and Bioinformatics (SBB-2024)" and the 4th School of Young Scientists "Genetics, Genomics, Bioinformatics, and Plant Biotechnology (PlantGen School 2024)".

These events focused on topics such as bioinformatics, statistical genetics, high-throughput sequencing data analysis, structural biology, construction and analysis of biological networks, and molecular evolution.

The Multi-School program included lectures from leading experts, presentations from young scientists with a competition for the best work, practical classes, and poster sessions.

During the poster session, third-year Indian students from the General Medicine Department, Ashutosh Rai and Adarsh Rai, presented their reports.

These students also participated in practical classes, which included activities such as hyperspectral and multispectral analysis of plants using portable cameras MUSES-9HS, Phenocheck (Spectricon, Greece), shotgun metagenomics for taxonomic analysis, genome annotation using the GENA transformer, stream modeling of metabolic systems and processes, and computer analysis and design of spatial protein structures.
