24.05.2022

Yulia Koroleva, a 6th-year student of the Pediatrics Department, took first place in the All-Russian Olympiad in psychiatry called "Mind Games – 2022". The event was organized by the Council of Young Scientists of the Russian Society of Psychiatrists and Saratov State Medical University named after V. I. Razumovsky.

76 young scientists under 35 years old and students from Russia and neighboring countries took part in the Olympiad.

"It was the first time I participated in this Olympiad. Though I did a lot of high-quality work, I was nervous because of the great competition and strong rivals," said Yulia.

The participants had to solve 10 tasks related to psychiatry, narcology and clinical psychology. They required theoretical knowledge and general understanding of culture since some tasks were connected with literature and painting. Clinical thinking was also important.

"In one of the tasks, it was necessary to name the literary work and indicate the type of mnestic disorder that Agatha Christie's character suffered from, as well as to recall other works of the author and characters with this disorder," clarified Yulia.

Associate Professor of the SibMed Psychiatry, Narcology and Psychotherapy Division, Doctor of Medical Sciences Nadezhda Mamysheva is Yulia's supervisor.
