SibMed held first Ethno-Beauty pageant
SibMed student Mariia Alieva won the Ethno-Beauty pageant. 12 participants representing different ethnic groups fought for the title of Ethno-Beauty. The event was first held in the history of United Tomsk University (UTU).
Students from SibMed, Tomsk State University (TSU), Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU), Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR), Tomsk State Pedagogical University (TSPU), Tomsk State University of Architecture and Building (TSUAB) and Tomsk Agricultural Institute took part in the event. Svetlana Pakhtaeva, Altana Bazarova, Mariia Alieva from the Pediatrics Department and future dentists Alum Ikra and Victoriia Li from the General Medicine Department represented SibMed. SibMed arranged workshops in flexibility and stretching. The participants also learned how to organize tea parties, weave dolls and pose in photoshoots.
In the Ethno-Beauty final participants made self-presentation videos, prepared creative performances and runway walks in national costumes. First-year student of the SibMed Pediatrics Department Mariia Alieva won the pageant.Mariia represented the culture of Azerbaijan. TSUAB student Aiaulym Dalelkhan representing Kazakhstan received the Audience Award.
SibMed held the cross-cultural Ethno-Beauty pageant in the Year of Cultural Heritage of Russian Peoples. Museums, theaters and other cultural institutions throughout the country hold numerous events devoted to traditional art and everyday life, history and culture of all peoples and ethnic communities of the country.
