SibMed became one of the green Russian universities

SibMed joined the Association of Green Universities of Russia, which became possible due to the work of the student movement called "EcoMed". This is a sign that the University is actively developing in the field of introducing green ideas and practices. The fact that SibMed implemented separate waste collection played an important role. 

The Association of Green Universities of Russia is an All–Russian community of universities that helps its members to implement new environmental practices and share experience with colleagues.

Joining the Association will help to make an eco-friendly lifestyle an integral part of the SibMed work. Besides, the student environmental movement "EcoMed" will be involved in the organization of All-Russian events of the Association.

The EcoMed movement participants raise environmental awareness among students and staff. They hold events and cleanup days, create guidelines for separate waste collection, talk about reusable alternatives to disposable items, share useful eco-friendly habits. We have made a list of all the eco-friendly places in Tomsk, where you can hand over recyclables, clothes or old books. They can be found on the map, which is updated from time to time. Projects to develop an eco-friendly lifestyle of the University have repeatedly received support from SibMed.

SibMed is planning to introduce separate waste collection throughout the University and dormitories and hold a local environmental fair.
