Interactive Anatomy Class: SibMed installed new equipment for students

22.09.2022

The SibMed Human Anatomy Division with Topographic Anatomy and Operative Surgery Course now has an interactive Anatomy Class. The equipment is designed for group practical classes and independent work of students in general and topographic anatomy courses. With the help of the new equipment, it is possible to study the anatomy of the human body on its digital model.

"The interactive table was purchased by the University for the division in order to introduce digital technologies into the educational process. The table is used in practical classes when analyzing the material before demonstrating anatomical specimens in the dissecting room. It allows students to study the structure of the body, as well as its individual parts in layers, sequentially removing the skin, subcutaneous fat, fascia, etc. The table can also show incisions in the horizontal, sagittal and frontal planes," said Elena Varakuta, Head of the SibMed Human Anatomy Division with Topographic Anatomy and Operative Surgery Course.

The software of the equipment demonstrates the entire human anatomy in one 3D scene allowing students to study the relative location of objects.
