SibMed held olympiad in pathological anatomy

Siberian State Medical University held an olympiad in pathological anatomy for its students. Third-year students from SibMed's General Medicine and Pediatrics Departments participated in the event.

The olympiad featured both individual and team competitions.

On the first day, there was a quiz. Participants had to answer 50 questions, solve a task and provide a detailed response in the form of a macroscopic and histological conclusion. They also had to identify the causes, complications, and outcomes of the pathological process described in the task. 

Results of the individual competition:

As part of the team competition, participants competed in three rounds of the Pathological Mystery game. In each round, participants received a card with a medical term or an image of a macro- or micropreparation, which they had to demonstrate to their teammates. In the first round, they used gestures; in the second — drawings on paper, in the third — words unrelated to the original term.

The prizes were awarded as follows:

I place — the  team "Krainiaia";

II place — the team "Patanutye" ;

III place — the team "Opisthorchiasis".
