SibMed students will use YandexGPT for learning
24.03.2025

SibMed joined the experimental educational project of Yandex EdTech. It is aimed at introducing artificial intelligence into the educational activities of universities.
As part of the project, undergraduate students from Pharmacy and Biomedical Departments, as well as Institute for Integrative Healthcare, will be able to utilize artificial intelligence technologies for routine tasks such as information search and analysis, data structuring, and design.
The project involves 21 academic supervisors and 37 students.
“Improving higher medical and pharmaceutical education is one of the key priorities of our university. We observe a growing interest in artificial intelligence among both students and teachers. We are confident that, with a thoughtful approach, integrating AI technologies into the learning process will foster a more personalized educational experience. As part of the project, our goal is to explore how students and academic supervisors will engage with YandexGPT. To achieve this, we are conducting extensive preliminary work to assess the potential and risks of using AI tools in education,”
told Alexander Okorokov,
SibMed Vice-rector for Academic Affairs.
Throughout the project, participants will attend master classes led by Yandex experts and teachers from the Faculty of Computer Science at HSE University.
A key aspect of the project is its transparency. Students will be required to specify in their work which tasks have been delegated to YandexGPT.
The experiment will run until the summer of 2025 and will end with the thesis defense. The results will be analyzed using feedback from students, academic supervisors, state examination board members, and Yandex experts.
