SibMed teacher recognized as Russia's best lecturer

19.03.2025

Sofia Sagdullaeva, Assistant at SibMed's Topographic Anatomy and Operative Surgery Division, won the fourth season of the All-Russian competition "Znanie.Lektor", organized by the Russian nonprofit organization "Znanie". This year, 70 lecturers from 37 regions of the country became laureates of the competition. Each of them received 250,000 rubles for the development and promotion of their educational content.

A total of 140 top participants—both experienced lecturers and students—from 52 regions across Russia advanced to the competition's final. The competition was intense, with over 100 applicants vying for each place.

The competition consisted of several stages. First, the participants took tests and recorded video resumes. Next, they had to organize and deliver a series of lectures in their region, ensuring that no topics were repeated.

During the six months of participation in the competition, Sofia Sagdullaeva delivered lectures for schoolchildren and SibMed students, as well as for Tomsk residents at the Lampochka food hall, coworking spaces, and lecture halls. Her presentations covered topics such as the prevention and causes of cavities and dental surgery.

In the competition's final, Sofia Sagdullaeva delivered a lecture on maintaining a healthy smile after tooth extraction, discussing modern methods for addressing this issue.

In the final, we had to give a lecture, which was evaluated by experts. In my opinion, the biggest challenge was adhering to the strict 10-minute time limit. It was necessary to present the topic as engagingly as possible, maintain the audience's attention, and incorporate interactive elements into the presentation. But everything went smoothly and the audience was impressed. I am happy that I decided to participate in this contest more than eight months ago. Before that, I had never given lectures to a wide audience, but now I confidently organize and deliver lectures that engage with the audience.
